About Us

Dr. Rosana Marzullo-Dove (of Tampa Therapy Wellness) brought this kind-hearted volunteering project from Brazil to the US to help children in a pediatric hospital (and their families) and the elderly in memory care.

“In volunteering, we discover that the smallest acts of service can create the largest ripples of change.”

The fairy’s kind heart embroiders joy when seeing the child and the elderly smile. It also makes those who create the dolls smile! Thus, life is renewed with hope and faith!

The A Flor da Pele Project’s main guideline is the production and donation of hand-embroidered cloth dolls for children in hospitals and the elderly in nursing homes, with the aim of providing emotional comfort and stimulating the imagination.

Terezinha Bevilaqua

Founder of the original A Flor da Pele in Brazil – her visit to a pediatric hospital left a big negative mark on her heart. She immediately jumped into action and came up with the stories she wanted to tell children (and the elderly) through the stitched dolls. Her talent and services have been spread in many states in Brazil and in 7 countries. Thousands of handcrafted dolls have been donated.
